Word Builder: An Ocean of Words comes with a cartridge handbook, a handy keyboard overlay, a binder to store the cartridge, and the cartridge itself. This cricut cartridge is cross compatible with both Cricut Machines. To use this cartridge simply plug it into the Cricut machine, turn on the machine, then apply the keyboard overlay to the keyboard area.
Being a Classmate Cartridge, this cartridge focuses on an more educational theme than the other Cricut cartridges. This has complete words and word fragments as well. This allows you to construct many words and helps to involve the students in the learning process. For instance is the word fragment ‘ight.’ You could place a large cut-out on the board and have kids come up with letters that complete the word. Better yet, you could have them place cut-outs of letters on the board that make complete words. Words like light, fight, tight, right, and fright.
Other word fragments included on this Cricut Cartridge are: ile, ince, inge, ind, umb, udge, ought, and ouch. This cartridge also includes the letters that can complete the words. They are on smaller versions of the basic shapes available for the larger word fragments.
Words and word fragments are not the only option included on this cartridge. It also has ocean themed shapes like surfboards, waves, clouds, eye patches, treasure chests, clam shells, bottles, palm trees, and suns. You could create a whole beach picture using this cartridge!
There are phrases included on this cartridge, just like most Cricut Cartridges. Phrases such as “the word is your oyster”, “words ahoy!”, and “catchin’-words.”
Like all Cricut Cartridges, this cartridge features Special Features. There are 6 special features on this cartridge. San Castle, Cloud, Surfboard, Circle, Fish Blackout, and Surfboard Blackout. Sand Castle, Cloud, Surfboard, and Circle all create the words and word fragments on a shape. Fish Blackout and Surfboard Blackout create a basic shape, minus the details, that is just a little bit larger than the normal Fish and Surfboard special feature. This allows you to create a 3 dimensional look to your posters and projects.
