The Sports Mania Cricut cartridge, made by Provo Craft, was a Michaels Arts and Crafts store exclusive until it also became available for order through eBay. The cartridge is perfect for any athletic event. For instance, the shapes and popular sports phrases included in Sports Mania can be used to make banners for various teams and sports competitions. For sports fanatics and spectators, particular shapes can be layered to proudly show off their teams’ colors. Apart from being used for banners for fans to give words of encouragement and display their loyalty to their teams by showing off their teams’ colors, this cartridge can also be used in coming up with sports-themed notebooks, scrapbooks, calendars, and greeting cards for sports-minded individuals. Sports Mania is also ideal for decorating game rooms, locker rooms, and sports fanatics’ bedrooms.
This cartridge has different themes for almost any sport. For instance, Sports Mania includes graphics and phrases related to football. For this sport, the cartridge includes football, quarterback, and helmet shapes as well as the phrase “Touch Down.” Basketball fanatics can also find graphics such as basketball players, basketballs, and backboard with net, and phrases like “Basketball is life” and “I love basketball.” Baseball and softball are represented in this cartridge with illustrations of batters, catchers, baseballs, bats, and mitts, and popular baseball sayings like “Play ball” and “Batter up.” One of the many sports included in the cartridge is soccer. This cartridge has soccer-related shapes and sayings such as soccer players, soccer balls, “Kick this,” and “Take the field.” Apart from these sports, there are also quite a few hockey shapes and sayings. These shapes include hockey players, pucks, and ice skates, and phrases used in hockey include “Slam!” Sports Mania also has volleyball-inspired graphics like hands reaching over a net, a volleyball player about to serve, and a volleyball, and phrases such as “Spike it!” Other sports included in the cartridge are swimming, golf, track and field, and tennis. Apart from sports-inspired graphics and phrases, Sports Mania also features generic sports-related graphics such as trophies, clipboards, water bottles, jerseys, score boards, and pennants.
This cartridge has six creative features, namely layer, frame, border, background, shadow, and blackout. The layer feature is used to add more details to die cuts. The frame feature, as the name clearly states, is used to enhance cutouts. The border feature helps fuse together three cutouts to form a border and is great for making scrapbooks. The background feature converts images into a background. Shadow is used to slightly enlarge images, and when these are layered, a shadow is created. Blackout is used in layering and fills in any open spaces in die cuts to make their details really stand out.
