Locker Talk Cricut Cartridge Review

Locker Talk (Item Number 29-0289, UPC Code 093573102899) is part of the shape line of Cricut Cartridges. It is a very popular Cricut cartidges designed by Linda Burrell. Linda Burrell has also designed A Walk In My Garden, and My Community Cricut Cartridges.

Locker Talk is supplied with a handbook (manual), keyboard overlay, and the new Cricut cartridge itself. It is compatible with both the Orginal Cricut Cutting Machine, and the Cricut Expression Cutting Machine.

It is a wonderfully useful addition to your Cricut collection and is one of the most sought after Cricut Cartridge. It was designed for all things school, and education. It’s great for graduation projects, back to school layouts, dances, proms, and any other school related function.

Some of the items featured are an apple, school buildings, glue, crayons, pencils, a ruler, hopscotch, a diploma, a graduation hat, a pennant, an i-Pod, a cellphone, a camera, a flash, a many phrases. The phrases include “pep rally,” “honor roll,” “boys rule,” “no boys allowed,” “show and tell,” “homecoming,” “kindergarten,” and most grades. This cartridge is perfect for your child’s school memories. It makes a great gift for graduating students, whether they are graduating from elementary, middle school, high school, or college!

There is an envelope too, so you can wrap your projects up in a theme appropriate wrap. There are also 3 foundation keys, with the envelope being one of them.

The 6 creative features on the Locker Talk Cricut Cartridge are:

  1. Layers
  2. Phrase / Layers
  3. Card
  4. Book Cover
  5. Shadow
  6. Blackout

Blackout is featured on all Cricut cartridges so I will not talk about it here. Shadow is another common creative feature and it creates a solid version of the shapes which is useful for layering. Layers splits the shapes into it’s most basic shapes allowing you to cut each shape in a different color, or texture. This allows a very 3D look to your project and it is easy to do! Phrase / Layers will cut a phrase and the background for that phrase allowing another way to add a layered custom look to your scrapbook.

Card and book cover are similar in that they create a large solid block with a small cutout shape. The holes, however, are located in different spots allowing them to be used in different ways. With Book cover, the holes are located on the left hand side of the card. You can run string or ribbon through the holes and create a neat book scrapbooking project. With Card, the holes are located in the middle of the card which allows it to be folded neatly in two and attached to whatever you wish.

Overall, Locker Talk provides a significant value for your creative scrapbooking dollar. You will not be disappointed by this purchase!
